ENTER YOUR LIBRARY CARD NUMBER & PIN If you have any questions about Missouri Libraries 2 Go, or are having problems logging into your account, please call the library at (417) 451-6438. How to Use Missouri Libraries 2 Go Hoopla supports the following browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. We always recommend using the latest version of any browser to ensure you have the best possible user experience. Hoopla is also available on the App Store, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, Chromecast, and Amazon Alexa. How to Use Hoopla TIPS FOR KINDLE READERS: (Note: Kindle Fire owners may now download the OverDrive app from the Kindle App Store and checkout eBooks and eAudiobooks through that app without having to do the procedures listed here under. You will also need to do a one time setup to register your device app. When you initiate a borrow procedure, check out the EPUB version – NOT THE KINDLE VERSION – to read the eBook on your Kindle through the Overdrive app. In the long run, this new app reduces a few steps from the process listed below.) 1. Sign on to molib2go.org in the upper right, thereafter selecting Neosho Newton County Library and entering your library card number (without spaces) and your pin (usually last four of Social Security number or driver’s license number, which ever you used to apply for your library card. 2. Sign into your Amazon account in another tab or window on your web browser. EBOOKS: For a black & white Kindle, you will only be able to check out eBooks first only through a computer, then later “pick up” via wifi or through a usb cable attached to your computer or laptop. Browse the website of molib2go.org to find a book that you would like to check out. You may limit the display of titles by clicking in the box under “Show me:” and select, “Only show titles with copies available“. For desired title, click on the book cover then select “Borrow”. Please note that not all eBooks are available in Kindle format. If it is available in Kindle format then click on “Select Format” and then “Kindle” then click on “Confirm and Download”. (You may be required by the publisher to download to your computer and connect your Kindle to your computer via USB cable. Please view the video to review the process. If you want more books (you may check out up to 5 titles at a time) repeat the process above. Library loans will only be transferred through wifi or USB – NO library books will be transferred through 3G. (If you have a 3G only model Kindle, you must transfer through USB. When your Kindle is connected to wifi, and you sync with Amazon, your library book will appear in your Kindle’s library list. NOTE: Some publishers require the transfer of library eBooks to Kindle only via USB. AUDIOBOOKS: Most newer models of Kindle will support MP3 audio books only (not WMA audiobooks) (a headphone jack on your Kindle is a good indication that it supports audio). The procedure is similar to checking out eBooks through the Overdrive Media Console app. View Tutorial

  • DONATE | Neosho Newton County

GENEALOGY DONATE The Neosho Newton County Library is entering an exciting phase in its 139-year history. A $1.8 million expansion to the existing facility has been completed! We are especially proud that the expansion was completed without asking for a tax increase or bond issue from our Newton County taxpayers. We conducted a sale of certificates of participation and raised the entire $1.8 million, with many local banks and businesses purchasing the certificates. Additionally, due to conservative stewardship of the public funds afforded to the library over the past several years, some three-quarters of a million dollars have been saved to put toward the expansion. The $750,000 already bookmarked for the project will allow us to pay back the first several years of principal and interest on the certificates. In the meantime, we have begun a $1 million fundraising project with the goal of raising enough money to repay the certificates early. STORYTIME View Tutorial "NO IS ALL I KNOW" IS THE 2024 BUILDING BLOCKS WINNER! 2025 MISSOURI BUILDING BLOCKS NOMINEES: 1,000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN Studies show that children who are read to on a regular basis have increased attention spans, more developed listening and language skills and a much larger vocabulary when they enter school. Sharing stories is a great way to develop important pre-reading skills, and it helps children to learn about the world around them. Sharing stories and books with your child teaches them a love of reading from a very young age because they associate reading with affection and encouragement not to mention the wonderful opportunity for bonding. Plus, reading stories together is just fun! 1,000 books can sound overwhelming, so here is a chart to help you set goals and see that it is very possible to reach your goals. CHILD'S AGE AT START OF PROGRAM / NUMBER OF BOOKS PER WEEK: Birth........................4 1 Year Old..............5 2 Years Old.............7 3 Years Old...........10 4 Years Old...........20 Any child from birth until he/she enters kindergarten can participate in the program. The program is self-paced and will depend on how often you read together. Any book read to the child counts and if they have a favorite that you read over and over you count it each time it is read. Each 100 books will be rewarded by the library. Just bring in your child’s reading log and it will be documented. Once they have completed 1,000 books they will be invited to attend a party celebrating their wonderful accomplishment!
